Did My Brain Fall Out?

Haven't we all asked ourselves this question? There are days I am quite sure my brain did fall out - I can barely put one foot in front of the other and I forget everything. I know you can relate!

What Happened in Translation?

I asked for this
And ended up with this. (Please excuse my super large forehead that is sometimes mistaken for the Life Flight Landing pad). I realize pic #1 is straightened, but trust me, even if I straightened mine, it would look nothing like pic #1.

EVERY TIME I get my haircut, it comes out like this. EVERY DAMN TIME! Is this a God thing? Is it even possible?

I mean, other than the color, which my neighbor does for me, do you see any similarities between the two pictures? Yeah. Me neither.

I guess this is why I should let them blow my hair out when I get it cut, but honestly I don't want to spend the extra $4. An $8.99 haircut is nothing to sneeze at, especially when the outcome is always a surprise! Even then, though, I am still a little too introverted (don't snicker here friends, it's true) to tell the hair dresser that I don't like it. I have walked through most of my life with awful haircuts because I didn't want to say anything. Sigh. So now I wait a few weeks and get it cut again. Care to guess? Oh yes, it will look EXACTLY the same.

  1. I've been there done that so many times that I just let them do what they want.

  2. You need to get one of those really big (I mean big) round aluminum hair brushes . . . use it on the sides with your hair dryer (the heat from the dryer heats the metal part of brush and "curls" your hair while you dry, but the brush is so big, it's not really a curl, curl. Brush hair toward your face as you dry. Does that make sense?! & It will look more like the pic, I think.

    1. I tried this today, Tammy. It worked on one side, but the other side - eh - not so much. It looked nice for the day (I even used mousse!). I think it needs to be a little sharper.

  3. I learned my lesson with this the hard way. I went to an $8.99 haircut place and wanted a straight cut...no layers, nothing special...I even had a picture. When I got home and cried because I basically had a femullet I realized that if I really wanted it to look like the picture I was going to have to pay for it. So now when I really want something precise I go to a salon and pay a little more. Totally worth it every once in a while!

    1. A femullet! Oh God, no. Do you have any pictures? Really, I just want them for evidence, not to post on *cough* facebook or anything. As infrequently as I get my hair cut, I should just pay for a "real" cut.
